MEMBERSHIP

Membership requirements are the same for all chapters. They are given in detail on the NSDAR home page, which can be accessed at http://www.dar.org. Women interested in becoming members of our chapter are strongly encouraged to attend at least one regular chapter meeting before making application for membership. Neither NSDAR nor individual chapters discriminate against applicants on the basis of race or religion.

As part of our prospective member assistance program, Lansing Chapter holds periodic genealogical workshops. These workshops are open to the public; however, prospective members who may be having difficulty in tracing their ancestry are especially invited and encouraged to attend. Both state and chapter officers are available to offer suggestions and provide assistance, as are a number of Lansing Chapter members. The workshops provide an excellent opportunity for those interested in joining DAR to become acquainted with chapter members.
